Geoff Naylor - Photographer
On this site are a few examples of my photographic work; both colour and monotone.
These images are unposed and therefore I like to think of them as ‘honest’. Real people simply being themselves, which usually means doing nothing much in particular. Shopping in a market or going to or from work. Everyday stuff mainly.
When I started working in public spaces I soon realised I missed a lot more mini-dramas than I caught; often being a fraction too late or my view being obstructed at the crucial moment by a passer-by. And then, of course, came the realisation that with immediate, spontaneous work there's no opportunity for reruns.
Street photography can often be a frustrating activity.
While I live in Eindhoven my favourite hunting grounds are larger, bustling urban centres like London and Amsterdam; both of which I visit regularly.
